One second, Kiley Holman was tied up in an amusement park ride, waiting to be thrown into the sky, and the next, a seagull stole her face. A viral video shared on Facebook shows a frenzied Holman reacting to the seagull which quickly launches into her body and flies away.

Holman, 13, and her friend and travel companion, Georgia Reed, 14, told Action News that they are celebrating Reed’s birthday at Morey’s Piers, an amusement park in New Jersey.

In the video, Holman can be heard screaming “a bird has flown in my face” as Reed had no idea what was going on next to her.

“When I got shot I saw him. It was going the other way around and then he came back and hit me in the face,” Holman told Action News. “It was really light, and it left only the smallest scratch.”

Luckily, the seagull quickly flew off Holman’s face and the girls enjoyed the rest of the ride. The incident even went unnoticed for Reed’s mother who was expecting the girls below. She thought the falling feathers were ticker stubs, according to Action News.

Holman is an animal lover and didn’t mind the gull intrusion. Ironically, she said she always wanted to catch and hold a seagull.

“I saw it on the internet, people were trying to catch them and, I don’t know, I just thought it would be cool,” Holman said.
