It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time to check out the first injury reports of the week for the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks as the two teams prepare for Sunday’s game at US Bank Stadium. Let’s take a look at both reports, starting with the visiting team as we always do.
Seattle Seahawks
Did not participate
- WR D’Wayne Eskridge (concussion)
- RB Rashaad Penny (calf)
- OT Brandon Shell (ankle)
- WR Freddie Swain (rear)
Limited participation
Full participation
- WR DK Metcalf (knee)
- LB Benson Mayowa (neck)
The Seahawks also had a few players on “Veterans Day Off”, but we’re not going to worry about that. Not a lot of big names on the Seahawks’ roster outside of Metcalf. Considering Metcalf trained in full today, I’d bet his knee problem isn’t something that will keep him from playing on Sunday.
And now it’s time for the home team. . .a team with an injury list that continues to grow.
Minnesota Vikings
Did not participate
Limited participation
- LB Anthony Barr (knee)
- CB Bashaud Breeland (back / shoulder)
- OT Christian Darrisaw (knee)
- DE Everson Griffen (concussion)
- LB Eric Kendricks (hip)
- CB Patrick Peterson (toe)
Full participation
No player listed
Yes, Dalvin Cook missed training on Wednesday with an ankle problem that clearly limited him at the end of the Cardinals game. Mike Zimmer doesn’t seem to care too much, however, saying that Cook is what “kicks us off” and that if Cook isn’t playing, it’s for good reason. This is obviously a big issue that we will be watching throughout the week.
Barr is back in training for the first time since before the Bengals game, and Darrisaw continues to recover from his pre-season groin problem. Kendricks was injured last week but played all the defensive shots against Arizona. Breeland was injured in the loss to the Cardinals and has been in and out of the roster for the remainder of the game, while Peterson didn’t seem to run out of time with his issue last week.
We will be monitoring all injuries on both sides as we get closer to the final injury reports on Friday. Hopefully the guys in purple continue to improve as the week goes on.
