Chad Wheeler technically remains on the Seahawks roster until March, when the league’s new year begins. But the team has made it clear that they have no intention of offering a tender for the offensive tackle.

Wheeler is set to become a Restricted Independent Agent, and his career is surely over after the shocking details of his arrest on suspicion of domestic violence.

The Seahawks condemned the alleged act and offered “their thoughts and support” to the victim. We don’t know what the support entails.

“The Seahawks are saddened by the details emerging against Chad Wheeler and strongly condemning this act of domestic violence, ”the team said. “Our thoughts and support are with the victim. Chad is a free agent and is no longer part of the team.

The statement then listed hotlines for domestic violence and mental health issues.

“We encourage Chad to get the help he needs,” the Seahawks wrote.
