Sean Connery’s cause of death classified as pneumonia, heart problems and ‘old age’

James Bond legend Sean Connery has died of pneumonia, heart problems and “old age,” according to his death certificate.

The 90-year-old Hollywood legend died at 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 31 at his home in the Bahamas, according to the death certificate obtained by TMZ. His profession was listed as a “retired actor”.

The cause of death was listed as “pneumonia, respiratory failure, old age [and] atrial fibrillation ”- the latter being an irregular heart rate which can increase the risk of blood clots, stroke and heart failure.

Connery’s wife, 45, Micheline Roquebrune, previously said he also had a long battle with dementia and “went peacefully”.

The Scottish-born actor was best known for his portrayal of James Bond, the fictional British secret agent created by author Ian Fleming, playing Agent 007 in seven films, starting with “Dr. No. “He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000.
