ATLANTA – The Lefty of the Braves Sean Newcomb went out on his own after being hit on the head by a J.T. Realmuto line during the third round of Saturday night's game against the Phillies at SunTrust Park.

Newcomb was hit in the back of the head as he turned and tried to avoid Realmuto's 102mph lining, which ricocheted into the stands behind the third goal canoe.

The southpaw Braves told his teammates he was fine, but he was quickly taken to the club for further assessment. Realmuto showed real concern by covering his mouth with his hands while running towards the first goal with a double.

Newcomb made his first start since returning from Triple-A to serve as a relief on May 6th.
