The Associated Press released Monday its 70th presidential election ballot. The SEC has six teams ranked in the top 25 national preseason. SEC teams in the pre-season 2019 are Alabama in second place, Georgia in third, LSU sixth, Florida eighth, Texas A & M second. 12 and Auburn at No. 16. SEC football in numbers looks at this year's poll:
2 Georgia has already participated in 3rd place in the AP presidential poll, and the Bulldogs were seventh in the last poll. Georgia was No. 3 in the preparatory polls in 2004 and 2018.
2 Auburn has already appeared at 16th place in the PA's presidential poll. In the last AP vote, the Tigers placed 14th in 2005 and 11th in 1994 after starting in 16th place.
3 SEC teams that did not rank in the top 25 of 2019 AP preseason polls received votes, with Missouri leading the way. State of Mississippi: 28th in the poll and South Carolina in 35th out of 46 teams who received votes. Missouri received two votes at number 14 and was entered in 24 of 62 ballots. The highest representation of the state of Mississippi was a vote in 16th place and the Bulldogs participated in 18 votes. The best of the three votes of South Carolina was an 18th.
3 Of the eight previous seasons in which Alabama placed second in the PA's presidential election, it ended with Crimson Tide leading the polls in 1975, 2011 and 2012. 5 SEC teams received no votes in the pre-season polls of AP 2019 – Arkansas, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. In the previous six years, nine teams received no votes in the pre-season poll and ranked in the top 10 of the final AP vote. The last SEC teams to have managed the feat did it in 2013, when Auburn finished second and Missouri fifth, after neither team had had a single point in the preparatory survey.
5 The pre-season polls included two SEC teams in the top three places, including this year's ranking with Alabama in second place and Georgia in third place behind Clemson in first place. Last year, Alabama was No. 1 in the presidential poll, Georgia at No. 3. In 2012, No. 2 Alabama and No. 3 LSU followed Southern Cal. In 1963, No. 2 Ole Miss and No. 3 Alabama followed Southern Cal. In 1959, Oklahoma sandwiched by LSU No. 1 and Auburn No. 3.
