A second woman has accused Governor Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment, according to a new report.
Charlotte Bennett, a 25-year-old former aide to Cuomo, told the New York Times that the governor asked him inappropriate personal questions and said he was open to relationships with women in their twenties.
Cuomo released a statement Saturday night saying, “Ms. Bennett was a hardworking and valued member of our team during COVID. She has every right to express herself.
“When she came to me and told me that she was a sexual assault survivor and how that shaped her, and her ongoing efforts to build an organization that allowed her to help other survivors , I tried to support her and help her. Ms. Bennett’s initial impression was right: I was trying to be her mentor. I never made advances to Ms. Bennett and I never intended to act in an inappropriate manner. The last thing I ever wanted was to make her feel the things that are reported, ”he said.
