Taylor Swift went into the engagement night of two fans to serenade them with the romantic Reputation hymn "King of my heart".
Alexander Goldschmidt orchestrated the surprise for his fiancé Ross Girard at Saturday's engagement party, where he expressed gratitude to all those who kept their engagement secret, but he trusted no one to keep it secret.
"There was a person who … somehow played a role in all of this. I would like to welcome you, my friend Taylor, and to wish you a warm welcome, "Goldschmidt told his guests.
Swift appeared and explained that Goldschmidt had sent him an email telling him that the song was special for him and Girard.
"I have been out of the tour for a while, but hopefully everything is fine," said Swift. "It comes from Alex. It's sung by me, but it's Alex.
Swift, known to surprise his fans at private listening parties and even home visits, then interpreted an acoustic interpretation of the track.
I have never felt so overwhelmed with the love and exhaustion of my life.
