Kid Rock paid tribute to Eddie Money by performing the singer's 1982 hit "Shakin" at the DTE Energy Music Theater, a Detroit area venue where Money has played 38 times over the course of his career. Detroit News reports.

"I'm sure you've heard that Eddie Money passed away today," Rock told the crowd Friday at the bridge of the song. "Not only was Detroit like a second home, but I'm sure many of you know that Pine Knob was absolutely his home. He opened this place every summer for decades. So we wanted to sing one tonight and pay tribute to him. So, rock on Eddie. "

According to Michigan Live, Money has been playing at the DTE Energy Music Theater every year since 1992, even going up to the inaugural concert. The penultimate concert of Money was his annual Memorial Day weekend at the DTE Energy Music Theater on May 25th. The next night, Money played his last show at Maricopa, Arizona's Akrah-Harrah casino.

The money died Friday at the age of 70 as a result of complications from a recent heart valve operation.
