WESTFIELD – Mayor Brian P. Sullivan continued the tradition with the Mayor's 25th Annual Easter Egg Hunt.
The event was held Saturday in the grounds of Westfield Middle School, at the back of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Westfield.
More than 6,000 eggs were filled with sweets and divided into age categories, giving all ages an equal chance for sweets.
A maximum of 10 eggs per child has been recommended to ensure equal distribution.
Each age category contained a special golden egg for which the child could claim a prize with the egg.
Local mascots appeared to take pictures and meet.
Contributions from Westfield Gas & Electric, Big Y Foods, Stop & Shop, CVS, Westfield Kiwanis Club, Mount Moriah Lodge, Greater Westfield Boys and Girls Club, Amelia Park Children's Museum and many volunteers of the city and schools contributed to the success of the annual event.
