Those who were disappointed by AtGames' attempts to wait for a mini-Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive) were waiting for Sega to launch a mini-console for some time. And patience, as they say, bears fruit.

Sega announced the worldwide launch of the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Mini on September 19th. According to the look of the Genesis 1 model, the system will cost 6,980 yen (about US $ 70) for the standard version and 8,980 yen (about US $ 90) for the dual controller version. The mini console will include 40 titles, which will be different for North America, Europe and Japan. Like the mini-consoles of Nintendo and Sony, the Genesis mini will use an HDMI video output and is powered by USB. The respective cables are included with the system.

But enough of that, you want to know which games are included! All titles have been managed by Sega M2 themselves, so those who are asking questions about emulation problems can breathe a sigh of relief. The top 10 Japanese titles and the 10 North American titles have already been announced, the rest intermittently preceding the release of the console:

    Japanese Mega Drive:

  • Sonic the hedgehog 2

  • Bright force
