The “Lose You to Love Me” singer then revealed that she “wasn’t involved with anyone” at the time, meaning her supposed relationship with Chris would have started after March 2021. Rumors of romance began to swirl in early October after Chris and Selena were allegedly spotted leaving the same restaurant in Los Angeles. Although the couple were not pictured together, paparazzi shots revealed that the couple were in the same location around the same time, leading some fans to believe they left the restaurant separately to avoid sparking speculation. Days earlier, the couple had apparently been spotted leaving the same studio, which only seemed to cement fan theories.
“If Selena Gomez is truly dating Chris Evans, it gives me so much hope to go from toxic boys to DAMN MAN,” one fan tweeted in response to the rumors. Another written via Twitter, “BRO, I AM NOT CRAZY ABOUT THIS RUMOR SELENA GOMEZ AND CHRIS EVANS ARE SUCH A POWER COUPLE.” A third fan echoed the sentiment, tweeting: “Honestly, if anyone was dating my man Chris Evans, I’m glad it was Selena Gomez.”
October 2021: Chris follows Selena on Instagram
Shortly after the photos of Chris and Selena leaving the restaurant were posted online, eagle-eyed fans also noticed something surprising on Instagram. It turned out that Chris suddenly started following the singer “Baila Conmigo”. While that doesn’t normally mean much, it’s worth noting that Chris follows less than 200 people on Instagram.
