The 29-year-old actress and singer took to Twitter Tuesday to call “The Good Fight” for including a “joke” about her kidney transplant.

According to People, Gomez’s statement referred to a mention of his kidney transplant during an episode that aired on July 17. The characters Marissa (Sarah Steele), Jay (Nyambi Nyambi) and Jim (Ifádansi Rashad) were discussing the culture of cancellation and that the jokes of the past were taken too far.
Jokes about “necrophilia,” “autism,” and “Selena Gomez’s kidney transplant” were cited as examples of jokes that the characters found inappropriate. A source told the outlet that Gomez’s belief that his kidney surgery was mocked on the show wasn’t exactly the case.

The singer received a kidney transplant from her girlfriend and “Grown-ish” star Francia Raisa in 2017 after experiencing complications following her diagnosis of lupus.
In September, Gomez made a statement when she shared a photo showing the scar from the operation in a swimsuit.
“When I had my kidney transplant I remember it was very hard to show my scar at first,” Gomez wrote alongside a photo of her in a swimsuit that visibly shows her scar.
