Selena Gomez no longer the butt of a few jokes from the new cast of “Saved By The Bell” – after tons of backlash, the show is cutting back on kidney jokes.
The new Peacock series has erased all references to Selena’s kidney transplant after outrage started pouring in on Saturday … but an edited version is already streaming. So, a fairly quick about-face.
Saved by the bell, it’s disgusting. Selena almost lost her life, kidney transplant jokes are NOT FUN. Respect Selena Gomez. pic.twitter.com/c8AZbsU1m0

As we reported … eagle-eyed Selena fans noticed 2 references in the reboot to the pop star Surgery 2017, and they started making hell on social media over the weekend and even launched “RESPECT SELENA GOMEZ” online.
The first reference was horseman … 2 high school mates loudly discussing Selena’s kidney transplant in the middle of a hallway.
“Does Selena Gomez even have a kidney?” are you serious? it’s so disgusting. the girl underwent life-threatening surgery. in any case is it funny. @peacockTV

Selena’s second search was more subtle, but just as offensive to some people. One wall in the background of a scene had graffiti or paint that read in large bold letters: “DOES SELENA GOMEZ EVEN HAVE KIDNEYS?”
Many people called the jokes disgusting and said that Selena’s life and death transplant was nothing to joke about.
Selena was silent, but Peacock quickly apologized for the jokes, saying it wasn’t their intention to shed light on her health and promising to make a donation to his charity.
