Hard crowd, hard crowd.

Senator Joe Manchin (DW.Va.) was reportedly “booed” by fellow Democrats after mentioning the budget deficit at a caucus lunch earlier this week, according to Politics. One witness maintains that Manchin was “jokingly booed”, but another reports not seeing him that way.

Manchin, who has “fairly typical fiscal hawk beliefs”, sees the growing national debt as a “heavy burden” on the economy and future generations, writes Politics. His bet to talk about it over lunch may indicate Democrats are “for more haggling over the price” of their $ 3.5 trillion reconciliation bill, to which Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Arizona) already hesitated on Wednesday.
