With the invaluable collaboration of the Financing Fund for Vocational and Technical Training (3FPT), 1000 women from "And Jéego" were trained in the processing of local products, dyeing, beading etc for an amount of about 45 million FCFA as part of a capacity building program. Moreover, President Macky Sall, aware of these efforts, has just granted financing of 150 million FCFA to the platform "And Jéego".

Under the leadership of their coordinator, the Minister Counselor, Zahra Iyane Thiam, the Women's Platform "AND JEEGO" proceeded this Wednesday afternoon to its General Assembly of Sharing Initiatives of the Platform of Women "AND JEEGO" Instead of the former Obelisk Nation.

All these reasons motivated the first phase of training of 1000 women of "And Jéego", for an amount of about 45 million FCFA with the invaluable collaboration of the Fonds Financement pour la Formation Professionnelle et Technique ( 3FPT).

These successful flagship projects and other initiatives of And Jéego were brought to the attention of the authorities, members of And Jéego and the public during the General Assembly under the theme: The implementation of PES policies by women: the successful example of the platform And Jéego "that took place this Wednesday, July 25, 2018 instead of the Nation (ex Obelisk).

This GA was preceded by a morning exhibition of products made by women at the end of the training they received with the Jeggo d'Or.

Thousands of women gathered in more than 75 organizations and working in different fields of economics, health, education and culture, wanted to put in symbiosis their potential of experiences and expertise to make an effective contribution to the achievement of Senegal's development objectives.

They created the "AND JEEGO" Women's Platform which was officially launched on August 7th, 2015. Rich in the diversity of its civil, trade union, religious and political structures, the Platform is an ideal setting. to enable women to identify and seize the opportunities that are offered to them in their environment and more particularly in the policies implemented by the State of Senegal, in this case the Senegal Emerging Plan (PSE).

So, after having worked for a long time in his favorite sector, the member organizations of the AND JEEGO Platform felt the imperative need to appropriate the PES; this in order to reap the full benefits that can enable them to play their full roles and responsibilities for the effective consideration of their concerns.

The Platform thus set itself as missions among others to develop strategies for cross-cutting application of equity and gender equality in all programs and projects for sustainable and inclusive development in the rule of law.

To this end, it is committed to contributing to the implementation of priority projects that have a particular impact on the socio-professional development of women. These projects cover a number of equally diverse areas such as agriculture, livestock, fisheries, education and training, health, sanitation, environment, trade, tourism and crafts. , housing, infrastructure and services, peace and security, and good governance.

In this dynamic, the first action taken to achieve these objectives was held a national workshop to share and discuss: "PES opportunities for women", January 22, 2016 at the King Fahd palace. His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Macky Sall personally chaired the session of restitution of the work of this national workshop.

At the end of this workshop, three flagship projects were identified for the launch of the Platform's activities. This is the establishment of a health mutual for its members: starting from the observation that many women have a low level of medical care and social protection either because they evolve in the informal sector or because they lost this coverage due to the death of the husband or his retirement and also the establishment of a housing cooperative to improve the supply of social housing for women.

We must not forget the promotion of structuring projects in support of individual or collective entrepreneurship, through the installation of a production and processing unit for local products in Sébikotane.
