Law on sponsorship: rejection of the appeal of the Senegalese opposition

The Constitutional Council rejected, indeed, the "appeal of unconstitutionality of the law n ° 21-2018 of June 18, 2018, modifying the law n ° 2017-12 of January 18, 2017, repealing and replacing the law No. 2014 of 15 April 2014 on the electoral code. The appeal was lodged by the opposition on June 21, "the local press reported.

The petition for annulment was brought by several opposition members, including Mamadou Lamine Diallo, Madické Niang and Moustapha Guirassy, considering in particular that the law violates the Constitution.
