To meet the requirement to provide jobs for people with disabilities, the National Council of Employers (NCP) has made proposals for companies to be accompanied on this path. During a day of exchanges on the issue, the vice-president of this organization suggested the setting up of a system of incentive support to the insertion of these people in the companies.
Yesterday, during of the day of exchanges and consultation on "The conditions for reserving workstations for people with disabilities in companies", the National Council of Employers (Cnp) made proposals on ways to grant them work decent, as required by various laws and regulations in Senegal. NPC vice-president Raqui Kane, said that beyond the texts, a response must be provided "to the issue of education and skills training for people living with a disability, in order to strengthen equality chances of access to employment and entrepreneurship ". According to Ms. Kane, "the reality is complex and any lasting solution requires that we also tackle the root." Thus, she stresses, the issue of schooling and training for people with disabilities needs to be addressed. The vice-president of the Cnp, who calls on the different stakeholders to define the social project they want for this segment of the population, called for the holding of "a national social conference on equal opportunities of access to public / private employment and entrepreneurship, under the presidency of the head of state. "
arguing that Senegalese companies have the advantage of having a much stronger social fiber, but also facing In this context of globalization and competition with the stakes of productivity and competitiveness, the Cnp suggested "as a substitute for any fine or tax that could be a deterrent to investment and employment, an incentive support system for inclusion of people with disabilities in enterprises ". It is requested that "a percentage of the budget of the lump sum contribution paid by employers (Cfce) be allocated to the qualifying and diploma training needs of these persons". Likewise, it should set up "a platform of offers of skills and professionals of the disabled". This, says Ms. Kane, "would go a long way in helping businesses, public administrations and local communities to find workplaces for people with disabilities."
Similarly, the Cnp proposes " that they are encouraged by various support mechanisms for their internships in public and private professional environments so that they have the opportunity to show their skills, their hard work and their integration abilities ". To encourage companies to recruit people with disabilities, the employers' organization requests that they be eligible for "exemption from certain employer contributions, in particular the contribution to the Social Security Fund, etc." Ms. Kane also asked for the definition of "status of the person living with a disabled person and the type of employment". Without fail to add: "The Cnp thus challenges the occupational physicians in view of the important role they have to exercise in this process."
