LIBREVILLE (Reuters) – Oil workers began Monday a 15-day strike in the facilities of the French group Total in Gabon at the call of the trade union Onep, said the organization.

The strikers demand including wage increases, bonuses, better opportunities for advancement and a reduction in the number of foreign workers.

"The 15-day strike will affect all facilities operated by Total Gabon employees," said the Onep in a statement. This will include the group's facilities in Libreville and Port Gentil.

According to the union, the decision to strike was made following the failure of several attempts to discuss with representatives of the total. 19659002] A spokesman for Total could not be reached immediately
