(CANAL +) – The CANAL + group renews its commitment as a sponsor of the "Ecrans Noirs" Festival for the past ten years. Dedicated to Central African cinema, this festival promotes the actors of African cinema and the Black World. It will be held this year in Cameroon from 13 to 20 July 2018.
Inaugurated this Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé, the unmissable event of the 7th art in Central Africa will be the opportunity to primer, as each year, the best audiovisual productions on the continent.
For the second consecutive year, a "Central African Film Market" will make visible and accessible to buyers, the best of the film and audiovisual production in Central Africa (Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola)
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss different themes for which CANAL + will speak. The four main topics are: " Canal + and Central Africa: Assessment and Prospects " (Wednesday, July 18 at 11:00); " And if the Humor was more exploited in the cinema and audio-visual of Central Africa? " (Wednesday 18 July at 15h); " New Technologies and Piracy " (Thursday, July 19 at 11am); " The Role of Women in African Cinemas " (Thursday, July 19 at 14:30)
CANAL + will reward the winners of the competition by giving them prizes ranging from 250,000 to 1,000,000 Francs CFA for the following categories: Best Series Award (1,000,000 CFA); Screen of the Cameroonian film (500 000 CFA); Award for best Cameroonian comedian (250,000 CFA) and prize for best Cameroonian actress (250,000 CFA)
Two editions of "The Night of the African Series", highlights of the festival, will be held on Tuesday 17 July ( at the CanalOlympia of Bessengué de Douala) and Thursday, July 19 (at the CanalOlympia of Yaoundé 1), from 17h to midnight in partnership with CANAL +. The opportunity for the public to be able to watch productions such as BarberShop (with comedian Dycosh), Kongossa Telecom, Dinama Nekh or Samba
" Ecrans Noirs has become a real market place for French-speaking African cinema. The opportunity for audiovisual actors from West and Central Africa to meet and consider collaborations.
