As part of the 2018 baccalaureate examinations, incidents were noted, all relating to the wearing and / or use of the mobile phone by the candidates. It is precisely one hundred and twenty-seven candidates distributed as follows:
• for the philosophy exam of the general baccalaureate: one (1) candidate from the CEM Martin Luther King center (Dakar), one (1) from the Lycée center Ndouloumadji Founebe (Matam), one (1) from Koumpentoum High School (Tambacounda) and one hundred and twenty-four (124) candidates from Ahmadou Ndack Seck High School (Thiès);
• for the technical baccalaureate: one (1) candidate from the Maurice Delafosse Industrial Technical High School (Dakar), one (1) candidate from the Collège Saint Michel Center (Dakar) and three (3) candidates from the technical and vocational school. professional education of Thiès (Thiès).
For the general baccalaureate, overall fewer than 10 cases were reported after two days of composition.
Rumors that the candidates concerned would already be suspended for 5 years are circulating in the media. The Office of the Baccalaureate denies these rumors and specifies that the candidates concerned have been the subject of detailed reports and their files introduced into the circuit of the disciplinary council of the University Cheikh Anta Diop Dakar, only authorized by law to pronounce the relaxe or sanction to apply.
Pursuant to the regulations in force, these candidates are excluded from this examination session. This precautionary measure will remain in force during the waiting period for the verdict of the disciplinary council.
As a reminder, the Baccalaureate Office conducted a national communication campaign prior to the baccalaureate, informing the candidates of the introduction of mobile phones in the examination centers.
