In a statement issued Friday, July 20, the Moroccan Air Line Pilots Association denies allegations that Royal Air Maroc airline pilots are on strike.

"AMPL confirms that airline pilots perform their missions, namely their flights as well as their penalty payments as provided for in their monthly flight schedules established by the Royal Air Maroc Company in accordance with the laws and regulations in force, "reads the document.

The association adds that its decision-making bodies have taken no decision to strike which remains subject to regulatory conditions governed by labor legislation.

It nevertheless confirms the prevalence of a heavy social climate, "exacerbated by twenty months of sterile social dialogue ", and questioned the real motives behind these allegations.

" Any disruption to passengers could thus be attributed to an alleged strike of the pilots but rather to a chaotic management of the exploitation due mainly to a situation of chronic under-strength many times denounced by the AMPL ", specifies the latter.

Recall that Wednesday 18 July , a letter dated the day before Ram CEO Abdelhamid Addou circulated in the press, denouncing AMPL's position and announcing a pilots strike.

A briefing note from the association published on the same day, announcing measures concerning oncuts and changes in flight programs

According to a reliable source, bipartite discussions have not been broken and could lead to an agreement.
