Plan B of the Pds for the next elections
I say that I am a man of principle who often says things as I feel them. Unfortunately it may be a fault in politics. I am often misunderstood, but I have always been alerted since the beginning. I always alerted internally before I made this alert publicly. That is to say that at the Pds, we need a plan B because we must not say that it is Karim or nothing. It's not just Karim in the PDS. There are other executives who can assume high office in this country. Unfortunately, I was not understood and it made me worth it. I was criticized, attacked and that made Karim allowed me to fight even in the legislative elections. All of this is not important to me because Karim Wade is a thing of the past. Since then, I am no longer active. I did not resign and did not officially write to resign from the Pds. But I am no longer active in party activities at the departmental level or at the national level, as a member of the steering committee or as national secretary. It was my decision. I turned Karim's page because I do not want it to be hard. But, I always said that the problem of the Pds is Karim Wade.
Bassirou Kebe and Fada, pawns of Macky Sall?
Party cadres had stood around Fada to say listen, we have to move towards renewals. The party needs to be well restructured and renew the base at the top. And democratically, we have a device that could allow Karim, at the time, to be our candidate. Reformers were put in place and translated into a disciplinary council. Finally, there was only Fada who was excluded. And Fada never said that I let go because I was very clear from the start with him. We are fighting inside the party. When he was expelled, he was forced to go out. Afterwards, I realized that he was right about us. Me who speaks to you, I stayed but I was not listened to. Karim always considered me as someone who was not with him. Returning to Fada, I say he has never been Macky Sall's pawn. He has spoken with the Liberal candidates and he is free to line up. Fada can not talk to someone who is not in Senegal. We must accept Fada to support Macky Sall because it is liberal. Fada has his reasons and he was supported by his base. But, we are not Macky's pawns.
What I plan to do with the Pds
You know that I am a Wadist and I know a lot of people are in this case. The problem I have today is Abdoulaye Wade's person. Unfortunately, the latter no longer manages the party. Today, I froze all my activities at the level of the Pds. Tomorrow, even if Karim came out to be a candidate, I will not support him. I made the decision because it's too deep between him and me. Someone with whom you have deep differences, you can not support him anymore. Since I froze my activities, nobody has called me at the level of the hierarchy. So, I set up my movement because I thought they did not need me anymore. On the question of knowing I am going to join Fada, I tell you that what is possible today is that we are a generation. And our generation can meet after 2019 around the values of solidarity, liberalism, but generation. It will transcend political parties and partisan positions. It is quite possible that young liberals find themselves to set up two generations formed by Abdoulaye Wade.
Can Macky's assessment allow him to have a second term?
Democracy there is hindsight. We have all seen that individual and collective freedoms are sometimes violated in this country. For me, the Republic has values and among these values, there is democracy. Institutionally, this poses a huge problem. Institutional governance, judicial governance, there is no independence of justice and we do not respect the watchwords of ECOWAS. On the economic side, we are told that growth was 1.7% when Macky came to power, although we know that during this period there were crises that could explain this, including the oil crisis, etc. Now we are at 7.2%. In terms of growth, when we conform to the standard of the international institutions that govern the world economy, IMF, World Bank, etc., Senegal has made economic leaps. However, the growth rate is not felt by the people. We must see how this growth rate could be felt in the housewife's basket. In terms of economic governance, there are scandals with Prodac. I think he can do better and he has to do better. Whatever they say, family safety grants are a good policy, but it is not well developed. The identification of vulnerable families is problematic. We must not do politics in it. It is necessary to improve this good idea
The independence of the justice
One is trying to liquidate a political adversary. When you see a President of the Court of Appeal who gets upset as if he is the accuser, that is a problem. Even for the Karim Wade case that I no longer support, I think it's political. I think this independence of justice goes beyond the governance of Macky Sall. We must be honest because we saw the Idrissa Seck case when we were in power, the Mamadou Dia case, etc. We must go to the reform of the system and do as Montesquieu. And give power to all three powers (legislative, executive and judicial: editor's note). We must give them their independence. The involvement of the Minister of Justice as the boss of the judicial system is problematic. Because, the judiciary is not independent. The prosecution, master of the prosecution, receives the order from his superiors.
The declared candidacy of Khalifa Sall
It is political. He is in jail but his followers should not behave in the same way as Karim's. Say it's Khalifa or nothing. We can say that it is Khalifa or nothing, but we must fight on the ground. We had been told that it was Karim or nothing but we did not fight in the field. It takes fighting on the political ground. It will take a political strategy of occupation of the field. We politicians, we must be much more present alongside the people. Politicians only have the eye on the President's chair. We need to be offered serious programs. Moreover, without partisanship, we must pay a lot of attention to Hadjibou Soumaré. The power understood it so much that he began to attack it. He is a statesman and people know it.
