Radio host Gavin Ford found dead at home, hypothesis of murder mentioned

Gavin Ford, the British host of a hit radio show in Lebanon, was found dead Tuesday at his home in Beit Méry, Metn, a source of security services evoking the assumption of a murder. Gavin Ford has been broadcasting on Radio One for twenty years, every day from Monday to Friday from 7am to 10am, a very popular show, "Gavin Ford in the Morning", with the Lebanese presenter Olga Habre.

An investigation has been opened and "preliminary information suggests that Ford has been a victim of murder," the source of security services told AFP on condition of anonymity.
Contacted by L'Orient-Le Jour, the gendarmerie post of Beit Méry-Broummana did not want to comment on the incident.

Radio One, whose offices are also located in Beit Méry, announced the death of Mr. Ford on Tuesday morning in his Facebook page.

"It is with a broken heart that we announce the death of our dear Gavin Ford, a member of our team for many happy years, and offer our sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues around the world. in peace, Gavin ".

According to one of his colleagues, quoted by the Daily Star, Gavin Ford did not show up Monday at the station like every morning and did not answer calls from his colleagues. The director of Radio One then alerted Tuesday the ISPs who found him dead at his home. Unconfirmed reports, reported by local media, indicate strangulation and a blow to the head. Other media report that the body of the animator was bathed in a pool of blood and had his wrists attached.

Britain's ambassador, Chris Rampling, said he was "shocked and deeply saddened by the death of Gavin Ford, one of Lebanon's most popular morning program hosts". "The thoughts of everyone at the embassy accompany his family, his friends and colleagues at this moment terribly difficult," he tweeted, also publishing a photo of Ford.

Many netizens paid tribute to Ford, who was one of the most popular radio hosts in Lebanon for many years.
