Finance Minister Abderrahmane Raouya said Monday in Algiers, the case of tax evasion raised by several members of the Council, that the state will waive, in any case, the recovery of unpaid taxes.
According to the Court of Auditors, unpaid tax arrears amount to more than 11.380 billion dinars, including 3.630 billion tax products, 7.750 billion dinars of judicial taxes and 5.300 billion dinars of unpaid taxes from the former Algerian Bank for Foreign Trade (BACE).
The minister recalled that "the judiciary has enjoyed since 2018 the prerogative of recovery of judicial taxes", adding that "we will not waive, in any case, recovery of unpaid taxes."
Regarding the interventions of the tax control officers, Mr. Raouya said that 52,000 cases were submitted to the tax audit in 2017, the value of the files examined went from 71.3 billion dinars in 2013 to more than 89.5 billion dinars in 2017.
The tax audit program for the year 2018 includes 1,937 accounting transactions and 227 operations to thoroughly check the overall tax situation, in addition to 611 temporary accounting transactions, the minister said.
