Access to financing: A local bank puts more than one billion FCFA available to women entrepreneurs

The People's Central Bank Group of Morocco (Bcp) through the Atlantic Bank is committed to a better access of women entrepreneurs to financing.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, the Bank has enabled some 40 women to benefit from funding through the SME Promotion and Women Entrepreneurship Fund, according to a communication of which we have received a copy.

With 45 new beneficiaries receiving a total of more than 700 million FCFA, the Bank increases the amount of credits allocated to this segment of the population to CFAF 1.313 billion out of the 5 billion CFA francs made available to the government for this purpose. It was in the presence of the Minister of Commerce, Souleymane Diarrassouba and the heads of the banking institution namely Habib Koné, Managing Director of Atlantic Business International and Arsène Coulibaly, Managing Director of Banque Atlantique, that the beneficiaries received their checks materializing obtaining these credits

which should enable them to boost the development of their various enterprises and thereby contribute to the development of the national economy. Launched in August 2017, 80 women benefited from the Bank's support through this financing mechanism.

"The first two initiatives resulted in the granting of loans relating respectively to a support volume of 250 million FCFA, distributed to 10 women and more than 350 million FCFA mobilized for 25 others.
