AEVIS VICTORIA – Adjusted sales at 30 September 2018 amounted to CHF 473.7 million
At 30 September 2018, the gross turnover of AEVIS VICTORIA SA amounted to CHF 469.1 million (2017: CHF 487.0 million). Net sales (excluding medical fees) amounted to CHF 411.3 million (2017: CHF 427.9 million). The various negative effects, such as the complete closure for the renovation of Eden at Lake Zurich, the work of transformations in several clinics and the lowering of the TARMED tariff were partly compensated by a particular dynamic of the foreign clientele in the Swiss Medical clinics. Network (+ 24% CHF 23.0 million) and in the Victoria-Jungfrau Collection Hotel (+ 10.4% CHF 48.6 million excluding Eden au Lac).
Adjusted gross sales of AEVIS VICTORIA SA amounted to CHF 473.7 million, a slight decrease of 2.7% compared to 2017 (CHF 487.0 million). Adjusted net sales (excluding medical fees) amounted to CHF 415.8 million (2017: CHF 427.9 million). The adjustment is due to an exceptional activation in 2017 (Q4) and exceptional depreciation in 2018 (Q2) following a Federal Court ruling authorizing a retroactive reduction of TARMED tariffs for the 2014/2017 fiscal years.
Swiss Medical Network, the main subsidiary of AEVIS VICTORIA SA, is continuing the implementation of the cost optimization and cost reduction plan of CHF 25 million, due in 2018. This plan will have full effect as of the fourth quarter of 2018. The program will continue in 2019 with additional efficiency gains for more than CHF 10 million. Clinic activity stabilized during the third quarter of 2018, which was also marked by strong growth in foreign patients and the recruitment of new medical talent. A significant increase in activities is expected at the end of the first quarter of 2019 with the opening of a day hospital at the Clinique Gnrale Beaulieu, a Medical Center at the Clinique de Valre and a consequent extension of Privatklinik Villa im Park. These three reopenings will mark the end of the major renovations that have had a significant impact on clinic activities in 2018.
Swiss Medical Network wants to become a Swiss integrated healthcare provider present throughout the Swiss territory through the integration of additional clinics and medical centers. Following the acquisition of the surgical activities of Siloah AG and two medical centers Solothurn and Oerlikon, Swiss Medical Network is currently working on the acquisition of several other entities in various cities in Switzerland.
Victoria-Jungfrau Collection, the hotel branch of AEVIS VICTORIA SA, has performed well overall in Swiss tourism. In 2019, it will benefit from the reopening of Eden au Lac (t 2019) after complete renovation and a new restaurant at the Bellevue Palace Berne, Nouma, which will open in December 2018.
