The African Development Bank (AfDB) Ranks 4 th in the annual ranking of Aid Transparency Index (ATI), by Publish What You Fund (Publish What You're Financing ), edition 2018, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the ADB on its website.
This financial institution has only risen in recent years, thanks in particular to significant progress made, over time, in terms of transparency. It has gained six places from its ranking of 45 development organizations in 2016.
Satisfied, AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina explained that "proactive relationships with stakeholders and governance anchored in transparency are crucial and central to our action. All our action is aimed at achieving results that make the African Development Bank the leading institution for financing development in Africa. "

For the AfDB, its new position" rewards improved capacity the operational efficiency of the Bank and the effectiveness of its systems and processes. "
The ATI Index is based on information provided to the International Initiative for Aid Transparency (IATI) Standard. A signatory to this standard since 2011, the ADB publishes its data according to the IATI schema, thus making them easier to use and understand.
This index is the only independent assessment of the transparency of aid within major humanitarian and development agencies
