Air Senegal, 23 months after a premature birth, the bird is still in a cage

All Senegalese experts, especially those in international air transport, based in Senegal and in the diaspora, are aware that the emergence of Senegal is based on strong, sustainable, and inclusive growth.

The emerging Senegal Plan can lead to this much desired emergence. At the time of the announcement of the creation of a new airline, 23 months ago, we alerted and wished that the errors (bad people in good places, patronage, financial mismanagement, technician and commercial) and the failures accumulated by Air Senegal International and Senegal Airlines are building on the choices to be made regarding the fleet, financial arrangements and staff recruitment. So avoid all past mistakes with measure and more discernment to give our company and our airports a national expertise, patriotic, available here and elsewhere.

The West African hub that we want to play at the Aibd , in addition to the existence of a company of international importance, a strong pavilion which, from its first year of activities, serves Europe, America and all the major African capitals, will be done only with a lot of intelligence and a high price.

A reaffirmed pride and patriotism should animate all the actors, all the national staff and users of our national development tools. Like some countries in Europe, Asia or America, Senegal can bypass international regulations "contrary" to its emergence and "subsidize" without qualms its national flag thanks to strong economic support.

A few barrels of oil or cubic meters of gas can be traded on the mortgage markets in exchange for a large new air fleet to resolutely meet the operating challenges of a modern national airline.

Senegal has portfolio than its traffic rights; immense wealth that must be shared by sovereignly through excellent trade agreements to tie intelligently with all airlines who wish. We have our market shares to take or recover based on these rights in rem. Contrary to what one wants to make believe to the Senegalese people, Senegal has a plethora of experts in the fields aeronautics and aerial.

In my modest quality of manager, having capitalized 25 years of commercial experiences in l ex-multinational company Air Afrique, a consultant providing intellectual services in the fields of air transport, travel, tourism and training, auditor of technical, financial and accounting operations of mission units and travel agencies. international institutions, I must not remain silent and at least I must make a contribution and express my deep concern, in view of the current situation prevailing at Air Senegal Sa.

In my opinion, our Politicians have been mistaken, in good faith, by putting in top management of Air Senegal Sa a team that only the huge salary of expatriate agent interests. The current course of technical and commercial operations shows and demonstrates a bankruptcy before the letter of Air Senegal Sa.

The liquidations of our two previous companies have been under the general direction of inexperienced staff, incompetent and little concern for development of the aviation industry in Senegal, particularly air transport. Failure is predictable and the creation of a possible 4th airline. This should not happen. I recommend to the State of Senegal to listen to its brave sons, patriotic experts proven to international air transport. Rectifying the shot is not late; tomorrow will be if we are not careful now.

Air Sénégal Sa must have a Senegalese senior executive, like a chief executive officer like the late Sheikh Fall, a charismatic, competent, strong and independent, with knowledge and skills in the field, a CEO and Senegalese managers, true patriots: – who are committed to carry out all the necessary operational, marketing and sales necessary and sufficient to open the sales offices or regional delegations , according to the flight plans and their linear programming; – which include air transport and the competitive reality that Air Senegal will face; – who believe and know that human capital is essential to build a coherent vision and plan for the future, but also know how to lead and work with different categories of employees.

I appeal to the patriotic responsibility of Senegalese employers, our Honorable Members of the National Assembly, our members of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, the Government, including the Ministers of Air Transport, Planning and Finance, the Prime Minister and His Excellency Macky Sall, president of the Republic of Senegal, so that finally, like the international airport Blaise Diagne, the Senegalese nation is endowed with a very large airline strong, durable, viable and enviable. It's a choice, it's possible, it's feasible.
