Amadou Ba advocates a regulatory framework favoring "inclusive microfinance"

Dakar, July 5 (APS) – The Minister of Economy, Finance and Planning, Amadou Ba, stressed Thursday in Dakar, the need to initiate a reflection leading to the establishment of a Regulatory framework conducive to the '' consolidation '' and '' emergence '' of an "inclusive" microfinance sector that brings change to the economy and the people.

'' The Ministry of Economy will be held alongside the Professional Association of Decentralized Financial Systems (AP / SFD) to initiate discussions on issues related in particular to taxation and financing of decentralized financial systems '' , he said during a consultation meeting between his ministry and stakeholders in the sector.

'' This reflection should thus focus on the establishment of a regulatory framework conducive to the consolidation and emergence of a more inclusive microfinance sector with significant changes for the economy and for the population ' , he said during this meeting with the Association of Professionals of the sector.

The Ministry of Economy, Finance and Planning "will welcome with great interest the results of this consultation and the recommendations that will emerge from it while accompanying the sector in achieving its objectives", assured Amadou Ba.

He emphasized the importance of the contribution of the microfinance sector to financial inclusion and its prospects in terms of mobilizing national savings and financing the economy.

According to him, the deposits made through this financial circuit reached 307 billion francs in 2017, while the outstanding loans stood in the same period to 363 billion francs, representing 10% of credit to Senegal's economy

Amadou Ba also praised the initiatives of the Sector Regulation and Supervision Directorate (DRS), a structure that depends on the supervision, in the framework of the provision of reporting tools, Information and Communication for the Decentralized Financial System.

'' The dazzling digital or digital intrusion into the micorfinancial environment and the new opportunities offered by Islamic finance are challenges for the various players in the sector, '' he said. 19659016] / * [ad_2]
