Birame Diouf invites the state to call on international expertise

In a press conference yesterday, at the headquarters of the Democratic League (LD), Birame Diouf, the former head of the department for negotiation and operation in Petrosen invites the state to call on international expertise since "it is an industry that Senegal does not know."

Indeed, the geologist engineer, geophysicist who animated a conference on "Oil and Gas: Opportunities, Challenges and Challenges for Senegal" states that oil and gas are a great chance for Senegal. However, this does not reassure him as to the progress of the approach hitherto adopted by the Senegalese authorities. Thus, Birame Diouf offers " a call for international expertise through consultancies that are specialized in the world and have a much more global view. These cabinets, after having done their work, Senegal will only have to adapt it locally ".

With 38 years of experience in the sector of mining, oil and gas, the geophysicist invites the state to change its approach. He believes that the authorities have an obligation to manage the oil and gas resources in the greatest transparency in order to avoid regrettable situations observed elsewhere in some countries that have oil.
