Bloctel: the inefficiency of the anti-canvassing system

The phone rings to sell you goods or services. Many French could not do more and appealed to Bloctel. This is a site set up in June 2016 by the government. By registering, a person may disappear from the lists of telephone numbers used by commercial solicitors. In a few clicks, the consumer is supposed to stop receiving unwanted commercial calls.

Today, 3.8 million French are registered, but more than 200,000 have filed a claim and note an upsurge in canvassing calls. The reason is simple: 665 companies subscribe and play the game while respecting the tranquility of the registrants while tens of thousands of companies are actually concerned. A future law plans to strengthen the system. Fines could rise to € 375,000 for unscrupulous marketers and the effectiveness of the Bloctel device would be monitored regularly.
