Like the Senegalese Democratic Party (PDS), the Rewmi has announced its intention to boycott the Assises of Liberal International scheduled for November 29 and 30 in Senegal. A boycott that is not without reason. The political party led by Idrissa Seck gave a press conference at the latter to communicate them to national and international opinion.
From the outset, the Secretary General of the Rewmi who chaired this meeting, (Idrissa Seck not being in Dakar), said that their decision not to take part in this Congress of the Liberal International is not taken against the 'instance.
According to Lamine Bâ, the meeting of the Liberal International takes place in a context where the Apr, an observant party, ie not yet a member of the body, goes out of its way to make its application by all that can be, including Liberal International. In other words, he fears a recovery for the benefit of the candidate Macky Sall who, to believe it, is not yet a liberal convinced.
Continuing, Lamine Bâ blasted the place stopped to host the 62nd edition of the foundations of the liberal international. According to him, it is an insult to liberalism to choose the Diamniadio Conference Center named after Abdou Diouf, which symbolizes socialism in Senegal.
For Professor Yancoba Seydi, who chairs the Rewmi Party's National Secretary for External Affairs, one must simply remember the approach of his party: the Rewmi will not endorse the Mackyllage of Dakar. While denying Macky Sall his belonging to liberalism, Yancoba Seydi indexes the flaws of the current regime in the protection of human rights. Among other violations of these principles for which the Liberal International was created in 1947, Professor Seydi cites the forced exile of Karim Wade, the imprisonment of Khalifa Sall, the banned marches. "Our boycott has led to that of other influential parties in Liberal International," Seydi said. "Parties have chosen to come to tell their four truths in Congress," said the Rewmist.
