The net banking income (GNP) of the Cameroonian subsidiary of the BGFIBank financial holding company in Gabon amounted to 5.1 billion CFA francs for the 2017 financial year, an increase of 13%, thanks in particular to the rise in average loans outstanding over the period. year, reports the company in a statement received Tuesday at APA.NBP is up more than 500 million CFA francs compared to the previous year when it was 4.6 billion CFA francs, says the BGFIBank.

This is "a good performance despite a contrasting economic environment," said the statement in the statement, officials of the bank after the report of the uptrend.

"In terms of activity, the total balance sheet increased by 12% in 2017, to exceed the symbolic threshold of 300 billion CFA francs," notes the statement, which explains that this evolution is "the result of a sustained growth in credit portfolio, up 19% over the year ".


In the last two years, the statement said, BGFIBank Cameroon has embarked on financing development projects, including those related to construction sites of the 2019 African Cup of Nations (CAN) planned in the country.

Deposits, says the company, grew by 9% "in a market where technological innovation enhances the competitiveness of players" through digital banking and specialized services.
