President and CEO (Sosucam), Louis Yinda, will retire in December after 18 years in office, APA told a board meeting of the company held Wednesday in Yaoundé.

Now 70 years old, he will give the place to the Frenchman Alexandre Vilgrain in this position of director general, who will be assisted by his compatriot Gilles Drouin and local Samuel Libock.

From sources informed, this decision is the strict application of a resolution taken since last November 14 by the French group Somdiaa, which holds 72% of the capital of Sosucam.

Established in 1964, Sosucam, which cultivates 18,700 hectares of sugar cane plantations in the neighboring towns of Mbandjock and Nkoteng (Central), produces 130,000 tonnes of sugar annually and some 8,000 direct and indirect jobs.
