The first round of the CHAN 2020 qualifiers (the equivalent of CAN for local players) continued Sunday with 7 games on the program. More able to qualify for the final phase of the competition since 2011, Senegal has again disappointed by losing 1-0 to Liberia. The Lions will have to turn things around on Saturday at home.
Disappointment also for South Africa who lost 3-2 to Lesotho. The 2 away goals allowed the Bafana Bafana to hope before the return leg at home.
Draw and blank however in the derbies Benin-Togo and Tanzania-Kenya (0-0). No winner either, but many goals against Chad-Equatorial Guinea (3-3). Small option finally taken by Madagascar who won 1-0 at home against Mozambique.
