D-media: Bougane lags behind Bitèye, Adja and Mamadou Awa Ndiaye

The departure of journalists Mouhamadou Bitèye, Binta Dior Bitèye and Mamadou Awa Ndiaye for 7TV was not to the taste of the CEO of the D-media group. Bougane Guèye Dany has decided to sue his now ex-employees for "violation of the clauses of the employment contract."

The boss of D-media had served on May 24th an interpellation summons to the three journalists and to the Managing Director of 7TV, Maimouna Ndour Faye. Bougane returned to the charge by serving his three ex-employees, a subpoena.

Thus, the journalists Mouhamadou Bitèye, Binta Dior Bitèye (better known as Adja Bitèye) and Mamadou Awa Ndiaye will be today in front of the bar of the Labor Court outside Dakar. He accuses the latter of violating the "non-competition" clause, even though he acknowledges, however, that our colleagues have submitted their resignation letters.

Only, according to Bougane Guèye Dany, they violated "The non-competition clause". This clause forbids them after the resignation to perform all similar functions, that is to say, journalism in a competing body. Also, they are also forbidden to practice in the media sector within a radius of 20 km from SenTv. Thus, the court will rule on notice, damages and interest and violation of the non-competition clause. (Allinfo)
