The French film producer and distributor Samuel Hadida, a figure in the world of cinema, who had notably contributed to marry video game and seventh art with the sagas "Resident Evil" and "Silent Hill", died Monday in the United States, announced Metropolitan FilmExport, a company he co-founded.
Samuel Hadida, 64, "died suddenly on Monday, November 26 at UCLA Hospital in Santa Monica, California," the company said in a statement.
Metropolitan FilmExport, a distributor of American films in France, was founded by Samuel Hadida, his brother Victor, and their father David Metropolitan. It was particularly illustrated by framework agreements with major American studios (New Line Cinema, Lionsgate, Dreamworks …) and thus distributed in France blockbusters like the trilogy of the Lord of the Rings or the series of "Hunger Games".

As a producer, via his other company Davis Films, he notably brought to the screen the first scenario of Tarantino, "True Romance", directed by Tony Scott, and contributed to bring the video game of cinema with the adaptations to success of "Resident Evil" and " Silent Hill ".
He also produced "Les plus belles années", the sequel to "A man and a woman" by Claude Lelouch, whose shooting ended in early October in Deauville.
"We want to continue on the path that he has traced by pursuing development projects under the banner of Davis Films, which Samuel loved so much, as well as current productions," said his brother Victor, quoted in the statement.
