Ebola survivors suffer from neurological and psychiatric disorders.
This is the result of a study conducted by researchers from the University of Liverpool and Kings College London released Wednesday.
Emerging Infectious Diseases report reveals that Ebola survivors may have symptoms of mental illness after being cured of the epidemic.
These researchers, who followed infected patients, between 2014-2015 identified and placed under observation of cases in Sierra Leone who complained of severe migraine and showed signs of stroke, depression and anxiety disorders.
For scientists, studies of greater Scale is needed to treat these people suffering from these long-term effects.
The Ebola outbreak in West Africa killed more than 11,300 people and infected about 28,000.
According to the World Health Organization, more than 10,000 people have survived the disease.
