Ethiopian Airlines, in a statement reached Wednesday to APA, announced, for the 7th year in a row, the award of the best airline in Africa for the year 2018. This award recognizes the "exceptional financial performance" of the company was awarded on 27 November 2018 for the 50th Annual General Meeting of the Association of African Airlines (AFRAA + English abbreviation +) held in Rabat, Morocco, informs the document.
"This award recognizes the ongoing efforts and hard work of Ethiopian employees who are highly committed to the extraordinary success of our airline. The award is also a testament to the strength of our fast, profitable and sustainable growth plan, Vision 2025, and the associated business model, "said Tehran CEO Gebremariam.
Thanking AFRAA and sister companies in Africa for choosing their company, Tewolde Gebremariam called on colleagues, industry partners, governments and all stakeholders in the sector to define strategies for working together to take advantage of opportunities arising from the business and investment boom on the continent and move the role of air connectivity to a higher level.
"Above all, we must all synergize our strengths to achieve the vision of creating a single and unified market for air transport in Africa," he concluded.
