RAM – The National Federation of Air Transport (FNTA), affiliated to the Moroccan Union of Labor (UMT), wants to find a way out of the social situation that reigns within the Royal Air Maroc (RAM). The union office of the FNTA, which notes that the social climate at the RAM is "more and more disturbed by tugging due to a hardening of the positions of the ones and the others", invites in a communiqué all the parts to find " compromise "to avoid that the RAM and its staff are found" in a situation that could recall that of the year 2009 ".
The FNTA-UMT recalls the "disastrous" consequences of the 2009 conflict "which led to a painful restructuring plan, the only victims of which were the company's small employees, not to mention the colossal financial losses that the have accompanied, "adding that this situation had plunged the RAM" into an endless spiral "that allowed the competitors" to position themselves on the chessboard of the airline industry. "
The RAM undermined
The building is today "damaged" by the social conflict between the technical crew and the management of the RAM, "a conflict whose consequences are detrimental to the company, both financially and in terms branding by media coverage ", the union is alarmed that law enforcement, dialogue, negotiation and compliance with commitments" are the only ones means likely to contribute to the fair and final resolution of this crisis ".
After stressing that the "respectable" place currently occupied by the RAM in the air transport industry was the "direct" consequence of the work and know-how of all its personnel, in all categories, the FNTA calls all protagonists to begin "a constructive dialogue away from any demagogy or hidden agenda, to find a way out of this situation."
The day before, Abdelhamid Addou, CEO of the RAM, lamented in a letter relayed by our colleagues from the Economist "the lack of willingness to reach a compromise" and "denounces an" overbidding of claims ", referring to the results of the General Assembly of the Moroccan Association of Pilots of lines (AMPL). If AMPL says there will be no strike, a flight was canceled Thursday, July 19 because of "operational constraints", says the national airline on its website, while a second flight, to Lomé this Friday, July 20, should suffer tomorrow the same fate.
In a tweet, since deleted by the Twitter account RAM assistance, the company speaks of two flights canceled this Thursday, July 19:
Two flights indeed canceled , as indicated by the website of the airports of Paris:
Last February, the pilots had initiated a request for salary increase, to which the RAM assured to have given an agreement in principle. The demand came as the national airline undertook a major development plan, as it plans to double its fleet by 2020, from 60 to 120 aircraft. Several flights were canceled or delayed on February 6, particularly from Casablanca and to several African capitals, following the movement initiated by the airline pilots.
