Recently, he confided in this experience and confessed that he would have refused if things had gone otherwise in his life at that time. During the press presentation of the show, he explains: "Normally, I might have said no (…) I had a little health problem, I was diagnosed with cancer, I will not make a story about it There are hundreds of thousands of people each year in France who are diagnosed with cancer, but I was scared for a while. " A challenge that he wanted to accept because, at that moment, he questioned a lot of things.

Bernard de la Villardière also explained that at the time of starting the adventure, he was cured but still came to undergo two operations. What is not nothing: "I was not in the best period of my life in terms of fitness, even though I had recovered my morale" he explains to the journalists present. The shooting conditions were very extreme and trying for him. But that seems to have been a real life lesson for them. The experiment lasted four days and three nights and during this period, Bernard de la Villardière lost 3.5 kg. Awesome!

The hardships of this unique adventure even influenced the course that was planned. The weather has caused some changes in the circuit that they had to do at the base. But Bernard de la Villardière does not seem to regret anything, he who came out at the time of a difficult and painful period as mentally as physically.
