IGFM – After a triumphal welcome, followed by a tête-à-tête with his family, Imam Alioune Badara Ndao delivered his first speech at home. Despite the fatigue, he thanked Justice and the Senegalese people

"I am a Muslim and I am a believer, so the first thing I will say is to thank God. I thank the Senegalese people as a whole. I see that it is an honest country where men fight every day for the truth. To bring out the truth is the fight of all. That's why I thank Imams, Ulemas, religious leaders, young people and women, but also and especially the press. I saw how much you fought for the truth to come out. I also thank the lawyers and the judge who was in charge of my file. The file was difficult, but they did not give up. The magistrates treated me with respect and dignity from the beginning to the end of my trial and they said the law. I pray for them so that they can continue their work with peace of mind. I certainly thank the press, I would like to tell them to pay attention to some information it receives. Sometimes there is information that should be checked and followed before going out, because once they are broadcast on a person, there is no return possible. This is valid for investigators. It is they who give the elements on which the judges dwell to judge an individual. They must take their time and recheck before sending a file. Because life is sacred. One can screw up a person's life after a botched investigation. This is to say that I thank the Senegalese people as a whole. We have a mature people and a responsible Justice. We have honest and wise judges, keep it up. I will not end without thanking the good will who, without knowing me, defended me. Thank you all, "he said.
