The ceremony began with the Casamance landing with great pomp, watered by two tankers and welcomed by Philippe Bohn, General Manager of Air Senegal, and his staff. The crew, made up of young Senegalese, with hostesses in gray dress with belt and red shoes, was a hedge for officials. And the President, accompanied in particular by Prime Minister Dionne, President Hcct Tanor Dieng, Mr. Bigot, French Ambassador to Senegal, visited the aircraft. "Today we are in Diass for the reception of the first Airbus A330 900 Neo from the national airline. And for the story, this is the second Airbus aircraft made by this model and the first on the continent, "Sall said.
He said: "I wanted to honor through this Airbus A330 900 our beautiful natural region of Casamance by giving his name to this aircraft. This new acquisition reinforces our national air fleet already composed of two new Atr 72-600 and will include seven medium-term aircraft, with the delivery of the second Airbus A 330 900 Neo and a third Airbus A 319 during this year. "
The President also mentioned planned airport projects in the southern region of which the aircraft is named. "I asked the government to work quickly on the international refurbishment and certification of Cap Skirring Airport, pending the total reconstruction of Ziguinchor airport and the upgrading of Kolda and Sedhiou airports. "
Philippe Bohn, for his part, declined his strategic managerial vision: "The reception of this aircraft marks a new era for Air Senegal which is based on a conquering strategy that results in the purchase of new high-end new generation aircraft with high added value. and by operating intercontinental high-yield roads. Air Sénégal's new aircraft has, among other things, 290 seats, a cabin layout for business class passengers, premium economic and economical (wifi, electrical outlet on each seat …). Casamance leaves tonight for Paris Roissy CDG airport, for what is supposed to become one of its star shuttles, the Dakar-Paris-Dakar route.
