The simple evocation of the name of Serigne Mbacke Madina (1913 – 1985), refers to the worship and the reverential fear of God. Reputed to be a man of legendary piety (ndlr: testimonials below), Serigne Mbacké certainly inherited his noble descent.
His mother Sokhna Amineta LO is the daughter of Serigne Ndame Abdou Rahman LO to whom Serigne Touba entrusted the teaching of all his children including Sheikh Mouhamadou Moustapha.
Born in 1913, he did the same course as Serigne Cheikh Mbacké with whom he did all the stages of Tindody in Mauritania, from Touba to Ndiarème. He founded Touba Kael in 1934 and established a "Daara" where disciples seeking a spiritual elevation engaged in learning the Koran and farm work.
He spent most of his time between Kael and Madina and was not really settled in Touba until after the reminder to God of Gainde Fatma on March 11, 1978. He knew very well the work of his father and set to undertake major projects including the repair of the mosque Darou Khoudoss.
He left us in July 1985 after building respect and admiration around him. For him the great scholars of Islam of Senegal, have almost all formulated testimony that tells us in broad terms about the great almost immeasurable.
Speaking of him, Sheikh Mouhamadou Moustapha (1888-1945) said: "I have nothing more than Serigne Mbacké in the line of Serigne Touba. Serigne Cheikh Mbacké Gaïndé Fatma is my remuneration for the services rendered to Serigne Touba. Serigne Mbacke meanwhile is a bonus that my Lord gave me. "
"If Serigne Touba had returned to earth, Serigne Mbacké would not need to change the slightest bit of his attitude. He draws his piety from where we draw our own, "said Sheikh Mouhamadou Fadal (1888-1968), speaking of the posture and behavior of the man saint.
"Serigne Mbacké here is certainly our son but he is also imbued with values that we", added Sheikh Mouhamadou Bachir (1895-1866) in 1963, introducing him to President Léopold Sédar Senghor, during the inauguration of the drilling of Top.
"Serigne Mbacké does not have the wingspan of a small son but rather that of a son of Serigne Touba"declared Sheikh Abdou Ahad Mbacké (1913-1989). During the interment of Serigne Mbacké, he had argued that: "Serigne Mbacké has no equal in this world down here he just left, he has no equal in the afterlife where he surrendered …".
In addition, the Holy Man himself built the mosque of Serigne Touba in Darou Khoudoss (Touba). The foundation stone was laid Friday, June 23, 1978 at 10am. It was in the presence of Serigne Mbacke Madina Caliph of Darou Khoudoss, Serigne Mahmadane Khary Lo ibn Sheikh Moustapha, Serigne Ahmadou Mbacké ibn Sheikh Moustapha, Serigne Ibrahima Absatou Mbacké ibn Sheikh Mouhamadou Moustapha and Serigne Mbacké Sokhna Lo new Caliph of Serigne Cheikh Mbacké Gaïndé Fatma .
Eight months and 15 days after the laying of the first stone, the building was inaugurated Thursday, February 8, 1979 by the prayer of dusk. This inaugural prayer was led by Sheikh Abdul Ahad Mbacké Caliph General of Mourides of that time. Had attended: Sheikh Abdul Ahad, Serigne Mbacke Madina and some anonymous because it had not been the object of any announcement contrary to what some advance.
This June 28, 2019, will take place the Magal of this man of God, in the luminescence of Islam. Magal commonly known as Serigne Madina Mbacké.
