Kolda: launching a project to promote family planning

Kolda, July 30 (APS) – The mayor of Kolda commune (south), Abdoulaye Baldé on Monday launched a project to promote family planning at a cost of 64 million CFA francs , noted the APS.

The city council contributed 15 million CFA Francs.

Implemented in partnership with + TCI-Intrahealth +, the project's objective is to '' contribute to achieving '' indicators in family planning (FP) in Kolda.

The Mayor of Kolda praised the commitment of the partners and the health staff, while advocating for the availability of Family Planning products.

'' We are launching this project which has, in reality, started with training. It should be noted that it (the project) remains paramount to help improve the health of populations. We must go beyond the construction of sanitary infrastructure to make the bet of the availability of products, "said Abdoulaye Baldé.

He expressed his ambition to build a center for adolescents, with medical staff, to assist them in the management of reproductive health (RH).

The FP project will be implemented by health technicians, supported by community actors to address the challenge of involving and supporting men as "main barriers" to family planning to Kolda
