RAM extends its partnership with the "Ecrans noirs" association for another three years and thus consolidates its position as official carrier of Cameroon's flagship film festival.

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) supports several events in Africa such as the African Film Festival (FESPACO) in Ouagadougou, the Dakar Biennial, the Bamako Photography Biennial, the Abidjan Arts and Entertainment Market … and also the "Black Screens" festival in Cameroon. Indeed, the airline has extended its partnership with the association "Ecrans noirs" for three additional years (from 2018 to 2020) and thus consolidates its position as official carrier of this prestigious Cameroonian cultural event. "As Royal Air Maroc, it is an honor and a duty for us to associate ourselves with this type of event. Firstly for its African connotation. Indeed, RAM has always included Africa in its DNA. This event is important for us as well for its cultural aspect, "said Othmane Bekkari, director of the customer center at RAM, on the sidelines of the signing of the renewal of the partnership, Friday in Yaoundé. An agreement signed by Mr. Bekkari and the Minister of Labor of Cameroon and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the association "Black Screens", Gregory Owona. "We are very pleased to have the support of Royal Air Maroc. A support that has allowed us to broaden the range of our guests and at the same time to strengthen cooperation between Morocco and Cameroon, "said Mr. Owona.
The festival" Black Screens ", which this year celebrates its 22nd edition, takes place from July 13 to 20 around the theme: "Cinema and politics in Africa"

RAM, a reinforced presence in Cameroon
Royal Air Maroc has been present in Cameroon since 2005, date which the airline opened its first agency in the economic capital of the country, Douala. Two years later, it is in the capital of Cameroon, Yaounde, where RAM settles. "We started by setting up a frequency per week, but given the success of these lines, we decided to increase the pace. Thus, we went to three flights per week for Douala and two flights to Yaoundé, not to mention the combined flights connecting the two cities, "says Adil Bahdya, Regional Director Royal Air Maroc Cameroon.
The Cameroonian market represents some 60,000 passengers a year (33,000 for Douala and 27,000 for Yaoundé). The majority of passengers opting for RAM (more than 70%) are only passing through Casablanca airport and only less than 30% of passengers have the final destination of the Kingdom's economic capital. "Hence the importance of the transit operation. And it is in this perspective that Royal Air Maroc has invested at the Mohammed V airport in Casablanca to set up a T3 terminal dedicated to transit, to facilitate this operation for its passengers, "says Bahdya. RAM has been present in Africa since 1958 with the Casablanca-Dakar line. But the true development of the destination Africa by the airline began only from 2004. "Before this time Royal Air Maroc had 13 to 14 destinations to Africa on an international network of nearly 80 destinations. From 2004, the services to the mainland went from 13 to 33 and today Africa corresponds to 1.8 million passengers per year of RAM, on a global traffic of 7.7 million passengers ", specifies Regional Director Royal Air Morocco Cameroon.
