The Luxembourg tour operator has presented its catalog Vakanz summer 2019, available this Wednesday in the travel agencies of the Greater Region, and took stock of the past year.

But before thinking about the next holidays, LuxairTours has made a rather positive assessment of the past year. "While the winter season is not over, we are already very happy with our latest arrival in the winter catalog, namely Ras al-Khaimah, and I am hopeful to revisit this destination in our catalog winter 2019/2020 ", Commented Alberto Kunkel, director of LuxairTours, before continuing:" LuxairTours had a very good year with a growth of 9% in terms of passengers compared to 2017, for a total of about 700000persons. In terms of travel packages, here again we recorded growth of 11% and 6% on dry flights. "

In the area of news for next summer, the Luxembourg tour operator offers its customers Menorca and Formentera, in the Balearic Islands, Spain, Split, Croatia and Marsa Alam, Egypt. "Marsa Alam is a 'new old destination', if I can put it that way. We can see that Egypt is doing very well. Currently, on our very first figures on Egypt, we see an increase of nearly 200% of requests, "said the director of the Luxembourg tour operator.

It must still be said that with the instability around this country, tourist attendance had fallen sharply. "We see a net return of demand on this type of destination, as on Tunisia, with a growth of 70% of bookings. Another success of the moment, Turkey, which knows a very great demand with not less than three flights per week on Antalya ", assured without blunt Alberto Kunkel.

Two new Boeing

The latter also insisted on strengthening the quality of services and hotel facilities offered by the tour operator: "We received a new ISO 9001: 2015 certification, which is the highest certification currently in terms of qualitative requirements. . This certification is not just a formality, because to have it, we still had to make efforts, including our quality department. "

The Luxair group will also welcome two new aircraft into its fleet. A first Boeing B737-700 in March and a second in May. "These two new aircraft will strengthen our capabilities in several destinations, both at LuxairTours and Luxair Airlines because a plane will be shared between the two entities," said the director of LuxairTours.

Before explaining the use of the second aircraft: "The second plane will be a 'spare plane'. That is to say, a device that will be used in case of irregularity. It will be a very important aircraft because we have seen, this year, a lot of problems in European airspace, between strikes or bad weather. We therefore believe that it is essential for a fleet such as Luxair to have an alternative aircraft to overcome the various problems that can be encountered throughout the year, as it is already the case. case for our Bombardier Q400 ".
