Since yesterday, the first global telecommunication operator in Mali has made available to its customers, the best network of internet connection: 4G. It is already available in Bamako, Koulikoro and Kayes.
The official launch ceremony of 4G Malitel was held on Tuesday, November 27 at the Hotel of Friendship under the chairmanship of the Minister of the Digital Economy and Communication, Arouna Modibo Toure. According to the CEO of Malitel, the launch of 4G comes from a global strategy to improve their services and meet the needs of customers. "Our goal, in setting the stage for the launch, was to offer the best quality of service and expand 4G, not only in Bamako, but also in other regions, and we are proud of the results achieved and you will see for yourself in the days to come, "said Abdelaziz Biddine, general manager of Malitel.
The world's largest telecommunications operator obtained the license to operate 4G just three weeks ago. "All this anticipation and these efforts are part of a global vision of continuous improvement, materialized by huge investments, technically, financially and commercially," said Mr. Biddine. For him, the best example of 4G is that of Malitel, which, according to him, relies not only on equipment connected to fiber optics where unequaled transmission quality, but also benefits from a broad bandwidth internet that allows to provide a flow rate that meets customers' expectations.
According to Malitel's marketing director, Malitel's 4G can offer up to 100 megabits per second. For Moustapha El Houti, this will allow users to watch videos on YouTube in high definition without interruption and to easily download and use all applications fluently. According to El Houti, Malitel customers do not need to go to an agency or change their chips to access 4G. "It will be for owners of 3G chips to change the type of connection in the setting of their smartphones," he said.
The Minister of the Digital Economy of Communication, Arouna ModiboTouré, congratulated the company Malitel for its readiness to provide consumers with a quality network given the date of option of the operating license of 4G . However, the head of the Department of Communication has denounced the cost of telecommunication services in Mali. The head of the guardianship department reminded Malitel and the other operators of the respect of the notebook of harassment, one of the requirements of which is the access of all Malians to the services of the mobile telephony.
