The loans granted to women entrepreneurs in Côte d'Ivoire amount to CFAF 1.313 billion out of a loan amount of CFAF 5 billion made available to the Ivorian State by the Banque Centrale Populaire du Maroc (BCP) The information is reported in a press release sent Monday to APA regarding 45 new beneficiaries of the Fund for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Women Entrepreneurs.

checks took place in the presence of MM. Souleymane Diarrassouba (Minister of Commerce, Industry and SME Promotion), Habib Koné (Managing Director of Atlantic Business International) and Arsène Coulibaly (Managing Director of Banque Atlantique).

"The new loans granted by Banque Atlantique to support the growth of the 45 companies run by women, amount to more than 700 million FCFA," the statement said.

Since its launch in August 2017, this financing mechanism has enabled Banque Atlantique to support 80 women entrepreneurs selected by the Ministry and meeting the predefined criteria.

The first two initiatives that led to the granting of CFAF 250 million, distributed to 10 women and more than CFAF 350 million mobilized for a further 25.

The Fund for the Promotion of SMEs and Women Entrepreneurs aims to facilitate access to bank credit for women entrepreneurs, including start-ups and any business sector.

The initiative makes it possible to concretely stimulate financing for women, advancing financial inclusion, in line with the ambitions of one of the agreements signed during King Mohammed VI's visit to Côte d'Ivoire on 27 February 2017, by the Minister, Souleymane Diarrassouba and Mohamed Benchaaboun, Chief Executive Officer of the BCP Group, in the presence of the Ivorian President, Alassane Ouattara
